Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the Changemakers program?

The Changemakers program is a 6-month long program that helps youth in Kenya, Madagascar, Peru and Switzerland develop the skills and networks they need to lead sustainable projects to improve their communities.

  • How much does it cost?

The program is completely free of charge apart from the time you invest in building your skills.

  • Do I need to have a computer?

Ideally, yes, as having access to a computer or smartphone can enhance your participation in the program. However, we understand that access to resources like devices, Wi-Fi, and data can be limited. That’s why we’re committed to making the program accessible to everyone, regardless of their resources.

We offer a range of solutions to support participants. If you have a great project to help your community, don’t let resource limitations hold you back—apply anyway and let us know what support you need.

Together, we can find a way to make it work!

  • Can I apply if I don’t speak English?

While English proficiency is beneficial given the program’s global cohort, fluency is not a requirement. We are dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive environment for both fluent and non-fluent English speakers. That said, having some level of English proficiency will significantly enhance your experience in the program.

To support all participants, every educational material and communication will be available in three languages: English, Spanish, and French. Additionally, for those who may want to improve their English skills, we will offer an intensive English course before the program begins.

Our goal is to create a truly accessible and collaborative environment where everyone can thrive, regardless of their English proficiency. So don’t hesitate to apply!

  • How are the applicants selected?

The potential Changemakers moving on to the bootcamp stage will be selected based on the potential of their project topics, project development stage, location, as well as their character and motivation. We will choose participants who we believe will most benefit from a personalized mentoring program like Changemakers.

  • When will those admitted to the Bootcamp be announced?

After the application period closes on February 15th, you will hear back from the Changemakers team via email between February 15th and February 28th about whether you will move on to the Bootcamp stage. You will be contacted regardless of whether you’ve been selected to join the Bootcamp stage or not.

Following the Bootcamp stage, the final group of Changemakers will be announced in mid-March, 2025.
